Focus: 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 – KJV 19. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20. For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
1 Corinthians 3:16-17
It is another beautiful day for beautiful people. The goodness of the Lord will manifest on all our lives today, in Jesus’ name. Our God is a Spirit. He is not flesh and blood. When He made man to oversee the earth, He breathed Himself into man such that man became spirit soul and body to the effect that the spirit of man, being a form of the breath of God, controlled his soul in the earthly physical environment. However, the narrative changed when man fell from grace thereby rejecting the Spirit of God from within his filthy self. The equation of man then became body, soul and spirit, but without the Spirit of God superintending the spirit of man any longer. Hence, the body took over the control of the soul of man to do those things that are inimical to the Spirit. The spirit of man became enslaved in his body. Nonetheless, when God brought salvation through Jesus Christ, as many as agree by the spirit with the Spirit of God that Jesus is their Lord, receive a transformation by redemption of their spirit such that they are restored to the original state as God had purposed, at creation.
Now, the Spirit that has come into agreement with the spirit of the believer takes residence in the believer. Confessing Lordship is affirming servitude to the Spirit of God. And since God has no flesh, He needs the being of the believer to help him oversee the affairs on the earth with a view to fulfilling purpose. Now, because the Spirit is holy, it becomes antithetical to put immoral or polluting things into or unto the body where He dwells. Therefore, for everyone who acknowledges the Lordship of Jesus and becomes entitled to the Holy Spirit in their bodies which has been purchased with the blood of Jesus, they are to glorify their Lord in that body and their spirit which has now combined with the Spirit of God. It therefore, can never be right that a believer drinks alcohol, does drugs or operates in infidelity, such things as defile the body. The result is to expunge the Spirit that gives the man credence to live creditably on earth.
Beloved, there is no gainsaying that there is no affinity between holiness and filth. If we must continue to be carriers of the Holy Spirit, then we must abstain from all filthiness, no matter what the name or description is. The list is legion. We pray today, that as many as are willing to remain believers in Christ, the Lord will cater for them and ensure filth is never attractive to them in Jesus’ name. No matter the tantrums of the enemy to make men fall like Adam, he will not succeed in any of our matters in Jesus’ name. As we uphold the goodness of God in our lives, may the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead quicken our mortal bodies the more, in Jesus’ name. Please ensure you do not cause the Holy Spirit to vacate your body like He did to Adam when he went into filth. Keep your body sanctified.
SOLUTION: Abstain from drug use, heavy drinking, fornication, adultery, sodomy and all the likes, that make life most unpleasant. Doing so is glorifying God in our bodies and spirits.
Please pray: Father, we receive the power anew to trample upon serpents and scorpions and do great exploits in your name and to the glory of your name in the name of Jesus Christ. Let this day be the beginning of greater works in our lives in Jesus’ name.
