Focus: James 3:17-18 - KJV
17. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. 18. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
Philippians 1:9-11
Happy New Month beloved of God. Gradually the year 2023 is winding down. The Lord will preserve us all in health and His lovingkindness in Jesus’ name. Today, God wants us to learn about the wisdom that is from above. The word of God is that every good and every perfect gift is from above, from the father of light, in whom there is no variableness, nor shadow of turning. That which is from above, including wisdom, is perfect. For wisdom to be dubbed perfect, it must be pure, peaceable, gentle, full of mercy, not partial, easy to be intreated and without hypocrisy. The wisdom of the world is not so. For instance, it was part of the wisdom of the world to stone to death anyone caught in adultery. In the days of Jesus, a woman was caught in adultery. The wisdom of the world instantly condemned her to being stoned to death. Such wisdom does not however appear pure as it is impossible for only one person to be caught in adultery. It was also not merciful or easy to intreat as no one was willing to listen to the woman. The other point is, it was absolutely partial. It is not a standard that heaven recognizes.
On the other hand, Christ demonstrated the wisdom that was from above: rather than judge the woman, He stooped down and began to scribble on the earth to display the gentle nature of His intervention; He displayed the purity in the wisdom by peaceably, without claiming to be holier than the lady, presented a situation to the assailants that showed their hypocrisy. Not one of the people that bore the stone was guiltless of that which they wanted to judge the lady for. In the end, His wisdom allowed mercy to prevail against judgment and without being partial, allowed the lady to go, since all others were not stoned. Invariably, it is easy for the wisdom of the world to condemn others of the speck in their eyes without doing anything about the mole in ours. This is what the Lord is asking us to work against from today.
Dear friend, do not be quick to condemn others or, to use the right words, destroy them based on the accusation of any other. We must first ensure we are equally not guilty of what we condemn others of knowing fully well that we are all work in progress. Whatever wisdom we decide to exhibit in any particular circumstance must be pure and righteous. Unless it is so, it does not end in love and therefore, not of God. Why not pause a little in every situation to allow the Holy Spirit to breathe through you. That which wants us to dehumanize a person for things that many others are guilty of but not accosted, is just evil. No matter what a person is said to have done, wisdom dictates mercy and reconciliation, not judgment or death. There lies the difference between God and evil.
SOLUTION: Never be hasty to judge anyone. Rather, pass every action through the prism of love and institute what is loving, pure and righteous in the circumstance.
Please pray: Father, we prefer the wisdom that comes from you like Christ displayed while on earth. Please grant us the same, dear Lord, in Jesus’ name. Everything we had done in times past, that did not measure up to the wisdom from you, please forgive today, in Jesus’ name. Throughout this month therefore, help us to operate in your wisdom alone, O God, in Jesus’ name.
If you are blessed by this post, kindly share with your contacts, as well as others, that they may be blessed also. Thank you and may God bless you abundantly as you do so, in Jesus’ name.
