Who To Hear

Focus: Luke 9:35 - KJV

35. And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.

Acts 3:22; Deuteronomy 18:15-19

There is a fundamental problem with all those who draw their belief from Mosaic traditions, mainly Muslims, Judaists and some Christians. Although, from the Tora, which is the base scripture that lays the foundation of their belief, Moses expressly said that the Lord would send another like him to deliver the people and the same is the one to listen to, when Jesus was introduced, they refuse to see Him as the one spoken of even though the Lord spoke affirmatively at His baptism and said that He is the person to hear, who will show us the way. Even at the transfiguration He repeated the same. Yet, almost all of these adherents find it difficult to believe God for His word and hear only the Christ.

Jesus is the way that leads to eternal life. What that simply means is that, only those who believe in, and obey the directions of Christ about how to live in this life, have assurance of eternal life. Hence, even if we claim to be Christians or followers of Christ and we fail to hear Him and refuse to obey His commands, there is no surety of eternal life. At the marriage in Cana, the hosts of the marriage were told to do whatever Jesus asked. When they obeyed, they were saved from disgrace. When He told ten lepers to go show themselves to the High Priest, when they obeyed, they were cleansed. He told the one born blind to go wash in Siloam, because he obeyed, he got brand new eyes.

God wants us to know that our refusal to hear the one He has instructed us to hear, is not helping our matters in this realm. The perishing of many is because of their disobedience but the Lord wants that arrested forthwith; and it will happen if we can simply find what Christ has said, hear and obey His directions about them. There is an assurance for the users of this devotional that from this day, as we hear and obey Christ, we will start manifesting instant miracles, signs and wonders that will draw many to our God.

Please pray:

Thank you, Lord for giving yourself to us that we may know you more and benefit from your being and your loving kindness. From today, help us to understand and appreciate the words of Christ that lead to salvation, in Jesus’ name. Keep us obedient in you that we may not fall prey of the enemy ever, in Jesus’ name. Let this day mark the beginning of our shining, like the man who received brand new eyes from you, in Jesus’ name.

Please share with others. God bless you.
