What God Hates

Focus: Proverbs 6:16-19 - KJV

16. These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: 17. A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18. An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, 19. A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

Isaiah 59:3-7

Our God is love and therefore He hates anything that is not loving. It does not matter from what quarters such action comes, once it is antithetical to love, it is hated of God. Our focus scripture sets out seven things to consider hereunder. The first is a proud look. Yes, God resists the proud. A proud look flows from a heart that fails to honor God and is often characterized by the I, my, mine types of statements. A lying tongue on its own is one that is always out to deceive the audience knowing that what is said or about to be said is false. A lying tongue can lead to hands that shed innocent blood as blood is not only shed through the use of offensive human weapons but through lies also. For instance, Balak did not seek weapons to destroy Israel; he only took a tale to Balaam who could curse effectively. There are many like Balak today: when they find a “foe”, they seek their Balaam to help them “curse” him. Of course, the heart that devises wicked imaginations is one that can never climb the hill of the Lord. Wicked imaginations include wanting to go to the mountain to rain down fire upon innocent souls who are other people’s relatives and so on. There are feet that often run into mischief: they can move from North America, for instance, to Africa just with a tale to disparage an individual that he may fall out of favor.

There are some who are good at bearing false witnesses so as not to fall out of favor of the wicked. When they are asked pointed questions, they corroborate a lie so as not to be victim of the wickedness of the wicked. The one that is most abominable in the sight of God really is about those who sow discord among brethren. Rather than look for how to bring about peace between two people that the devil has succeeded to drag apart, they become willing instruments in the hands of the devil to cause them to get farther apart. Those who do so are always carrying fables and gossips about the one to the other to make the other feel they love him. They are liars seeking to separate the two brethren involved just to satisfy their evil pursuit. The Lord frowns at all these things and enjoins us to abstain from doing any of them so that we may continue to be in His love. Those who refuse to comply put themselves against the Consuming Fire, directly.

By the grace of God, none of us shall be judged to operate in any of the things the Lord hates in Jesus’ name. Every power trying to lure us against the mind of God shall be dissolved for our sakes in Jesus’ name. And every machination of the enemy to make any one of us victim of the things that God hates, the Lord Himself shall scuttle for our sakes in Jesus’ name. The love of God shall make us glow the more in His glory from now on in Jesus’ name. Wherever we had been found wanting in any of the things which God hates, the mercy of God through the blood of Jesus shall prevail in Jesus’ name. May the power of the devil that puts evil in the hearts of people to do, be broken over every user of this Guide in Jesus’ name.

SOLUTION: God is holy and loving. He commands that we be holy and love our neighbors like ourselves. Anything done aimed at hurting anyone is evil and hated by God. Do only things that are loving, caring and redeeming; do not destroy anyone. Only in this is the Lord pleased.
