Focus: Colossians 2:6-7 - KJV
6. As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: 7. Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
1 Thessalonians 4:1-8
As Christ is our example, the way to ultimate salvation and life is by walking in Him. To walk in Him is to be sanctified: separated from the evil ways predominant in the present world, unto righteous living as He has shown us exemplarily. We are to possess our bodies in sanctification and honor, not defrauding our neighbors in anything. Enduring everything that comes our way and being thankful unto our God for the life He has accorded us in His family and the hope we have in Him, by Christ Jesus. If any should despise another in the walk in Christ, he defiles not the one but God Himself.
It has become now almost a usual thing to find people who are said to be Christians operating in filth and the same is not abnormal in the sight of those who are non-Christians. Although it is said statistically, that Christians are about 2.5 billion people in the entire world. Ironically, with that size and number, rather than the world getting better, it is falling further into decay. If, as the salt of the earth, Christians are meant to heal the decay in the world, the huge number of Christians is not having the desired effect.
On this day, God wants us to examine ourselves and check what contribution we are making to the earth/world: are we contributing to the decay or helping to heal it in our different corners? If only we would walk in Christ as we have been instructed by God, then are we truly city set upon the hill that cannot be hid. But if we live a life of compromise and people are not even surprised, then we do despise our God who saved us and brought us up to lead a sanctified life. Such is with dare consequences if we do not repent urgently. Let us therefore, walk in Christ and stick with Him to the end.
Please pray:
Father, I thank you for introducing me to the Lord Jesus Christ. I do not want to despise you in any way. Yet, I know how weak and horrible the flesh is. Give me the power by your Spirit to always overcome the flesh, in Jesus’ name. Let me be an example of a sanctified life to others from this day, in Jesus’ name. From this very day, let my appearance in any place make evil a taboo to others, in the name of Jesus Christ. Make this day a blessed day for me, my family and friends, in Jesus’ name.
Please share with others. God bless you.
