23. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 5:6-12
Sin is a destroyer. Some say how can a loving God send people He loves to hell. It is never God sending anyone to hell. There is no one God singles out to send to hell. He lays before every creature a choice. Those who decide to settle for hell find it of their own choice. Being loving, He gave all the blessings there can be to man as against every other creature. He was even said to have made His angels ministering spirits to the man He loves. Despite that, man made a choice to obey the being of hell as against the God of life. Obedience to the being of hell is a choice for hell; while obedience to the God is to choose life.
It is true that Christ has reconciled us back unto God and away from our initial ill-choice, but our God is constant: He does not change. If the wages of sin was death at the time of Adam, it has not stopped being so now! When Christ was in His earthly ministry, He warned them that He redeemed from the effect of sin, to go and sin no more so that a more devastating result would not emerge. If we can live in sin that grace may abound to us still, He would have told us so. But He told us expressly that only those who live in obedience unto Him to the end shall be saved. Despite the fact that Peter heard Him, and witnessed His sacrifice and resurrection, he would have ended up a candidate of hell for forsaking the way, if Christ had not come back for him before ascending to heaven.
The Lord wants us to allow the truth to sink in us anew that the wages of sin remain death. We are servants to him whom we obey: servants of Christ unto life; or servants of sin unto death. Let everyone therefore work out his own salvation with fear and trembling. The Lord who loves us has made for us all the danger markings. Those who refuse to heed the warning will not be justified to blame God for their woes in the end. It is only those that endure to the end in righteousness that would be saved.

Thank you, Lord for the salvation of my soul in Christ Jesus. Lord, I prefer to dwell in your Light: please help me to remain therein to the end, in Jesus’ name. Do not let me insult you and make a mess of your sacrifice by leading a life of sin again, dear Lord, in Jesus’ name. Let every lust that endears me to sin be destroyed today, in Jesus’ name. Make me an epitome of righteousness and hater of sin and sinfulness by the help of your Spirit, in Jesus’ name.
