Focus 2 John 1:9 - KJV
9. Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
1 John 2:22-23
The Lord, who knows all things had said that many would show up in the gathering of the saints laying claim to performing wonders in His name and He would then tell them He never knew them as they are workers of iniquity. Of course, those who belong to this category claim to be and are, in the eyes of the world, Christians. But in the eyes of Christ, they are workers of iniquity and anti-Christ. This on its own, is mind bungling, yet the Lord knows they that are is.
The simple test of Christ-likeness otherwise called Christianity is abiding in the doctrine of Christ and not transgressing against it. Anything that a man does which is not approvable of Christ, is a transgression against the doctrine. If we have that understanding, then, when it appears we are called out for such transgression, our place is to have a rethink and amend our ways; not to pick up a quarrel with them that the Lord has sent gently to nudge us into correction. They that would perish will however not hearken to the warnings of the Lord for they are filled with pride and great indignation.
The Lord is telling us today that if He has told us the one to hear for us to be saved from the wrath to come and we fail to obey, we are not only transgressing against that person who is the Christ but against Him who is the Almighty God, and it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the Lord. We are therefore to make up our minds who we want to be: if Christians, then abide in the doctrines of Christ completely; otherwise, stare clear and be known for our choices. But the one who transgresses the doctrine of Christ is anti-Christ and will be treated as such. Let the world be purified through us as the salt thereof. Stop adding to the decay; be the cure.

Thank you, father for showing me the way in Christ Jesus so that through His doctrine, I am able to relate with and abide in you. Do help me never to transgress against you ever again as you keep me permanently in the doctrine of Christ to the glory of your name, in Jesus’ name. When you shall come for your saints, please do not let me be a cast away, but let me be identified in you from now and even then, in Jesus’ name.
