Focus: Joel 2:1 - KJV
1. Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand;
Joel 2:11-31
Just before the great day of the Lord shall come, the trumpet will first be blown. Incidentally, the trumpet is a spiritual flute which will only be heard by them that are spiritual. Once it is blown, it heralds the coming of the great day when the Lord will bring about a new heaven and a new earth; when the sun or moon shall no longer be light unto the inhabitants of the earth and the Spirit of God will be poured upon all flesh to the intent that there will be none lacking in spiritual understanding.
God inspired Joel and others to write the prophesy of the coming of the day of the Lord. Many have interpreted Joel’s prophesy to have happened on the day of Pentecost, including the words of Peter in the Acts. That which happened on Pentecost is a precursor to the real occurrence. When the fullness of time shall come, those who are ransomed and made inhabitants of the new earth shall all receive the Spirit anew: it will not just be a handful of people. The joy that will exist then will surpass all human understanding.
There is a preparation that is necessary before the trump is blown. Since when the trump is blown, there will be no more room for repentance but judgment, the Lord is calling us now to repentance. He wants us to check our ways and make them right before Him. Unless our names be written in the Book of Life indelibly, we cannot expect to have life after the sound of the trump. It is therefore, imperative that we do all necessary to have our names written and retained in the Book that we may reign with Christ in the end.
Please pray:
Lord, we appreciate all you have done to keep us in the path of life so far. Please help us that we may have our names retained in the Book of Life such that when the trump shall sound, we shall be counted among them that will inherit the new earth, in Jesus’ name. Let your kingdom come even in our time, so that we may not taste death before seeing you, in Jesus’ name. Please keep us in your good plan for eternity, in Jesus’ name. Let today mark a supernatural turnaround for better in our lives dear Lord, in Jesus’ name.
