4. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
John 8:12
At creation when God made man in His image and likeness such that he became a living soul, man bore the light of God as His image to deter darkness from the earth so that it may not be made void, again. But when man abdicated his position of authority by coming under the rulership of Satan the ruler of darkness, he forfeited the light and therefore, life. Glory be to God who has afforded us anew the light through the Lord Jesus Christ; so that through Him, we have life again and we have it in abundance.
The evidence of life in the light of men was demonstrated clearly at the tomb of Lazarus. It is not enough to have life; it is much more glorious to offer life to the dead, like Christ did. When He got to the tomb, the hopeless received hope, as the dead came to life again by the reason of the presence of the Light of men who also is the Resurrection and the Life. Jesus Christ is He and He is the restorer of the Light that Adam lost in the Garden that separated between man and the creator.
Today, the Lord wants us to fill our hearts with wisdom so that we may, through Christ seek the way to God. When we are with God, we operate in the Light and have no darkness at all in or about our beings. This brings us life and when we grow in it, we are also able to offer life to others who may be dead in darkness. Let us therefore, seek the light of men today, that we may receive from Him in abundance, the light that will jumpstart our lives anew.
Please pray:
Father, by your power, please activate in me abundant life through your light, in Jesus’ name. Let your light so shine in me that it may never be put out again in Jesus’ name. Whatever I will do to affect your light in me, please make it impossible for me to do, in Jesus’ name.
