Focus: Malachi 3:16 - KJV
16. Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.
Malachi 3:16-19
The Lord enjoins us as believers not to forsake the fellowship of one another. The basis is that when believers come together, they learn from one another, get more sharpened in the knowledge of the Lord and possess greater capacity to dispel darkness. So then, He says to us, where any two or three are gathered in His name, He is there in the midst; also, whatsoever any two of us shall agree upon, He would do. It is also trite that one believer is empowered to chase a thousand spiritual foes while two of them will put ten thousand to flight. For all of these, the Lord enjoined fellowship.
The beauty of fellowship can be gleaned from the experience of the early Church. When Jesus ascended to heaven and they appeared to lack comfort, they came into fellowship one with others and were in one accord when the Lord descended upon them as promised by Christ and they were baptized in the Holy Ghost, with fire. When Peter was imprisoned preparatory to execution, the Church remembered the effectiveness of fellowship which they did not ignite for James who was beheaded before Peter was arrested. When they put fellowship together again because of Peter, the unimaginable happened. Peter got out of prison as if he was in a dream.
The Lord is asking that we activate fellowship more often as believers as we do not know when the enemy would try to strike again. If, as Christian soldiers, we are always ready and at alert, the enemy will never catch us unawares, as our Commander is ever ready to hear and attend to our cries in fellowship. There is therefore, a user of this devotional who this very day, by reason of this online fellowship shall be delivered in a dreamlike fashion and will testify to the goodness of the Lord, in Jesus’ name.
Please pray:
Father, I thank you for making us know the potency of fellowship in our spiritual combat on this side of eternity. As we come together from time to time, let the devil be made our footstool never to be able to hurt any of us again, in Jesus’ name. On this very day, Papa, let every user of this devotional experience dreamlike miracles that we may together glorify your name, in Jesus’ name. Give each of us at least a victory today that no man can gainsay, in Jesus’ mighty name.
Please share with others. God bless you.
A resounding Amen.
