Focus: Romans 2:29 - KJV
29. But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
Philippians 3:1-11
Thanks be to God that has brought us to the last day in the present year. As we cross into the new year tonight, may all the blessings we have left in this year be translated to us today, to relish in the new year, in Jesus’ name. But we need to develop circumcision in our hearts and not necessarily our flesh. Heart circumcision is about loving God wholly and doing His will alone at all times as against the fleshly circumcision which is of the letter and unreliable in righteousness.
When Paul became circumcised in his heart, he was completely sold out to the kingdom such that even though he had great fleshly credence, he counted it all dung for the sake of the kingdom and he looked up only to God for His approval of his deeds. Indeed, he gave himself to the study of Christ, His death, resurrection and sufferings so that he himself may be cultured thereby into loving the Lord.
As we prepare for the new year, it is the mind of God that we become circumcised at heart and begin to love God more than ever and to abstain from dogs who will approach us with fables with a view to teaching us things that do not pertain to God, in philosophies and the words of men, aiming to draw us faraway from the love of our God. From such teachers, please abstain. With circumcised hearts, we are bound to take the world over for Christ in the new year. Happy New Year in advance, beloved.
Please pray:
Thank you, Lord for the year running out and for the one ahead. Every plan of the devil to destroy men today shall not work in Jesus’ name. We shall live to see the new year in good health and soundness of body and mind in Jesus’ name. Even before this day is over, all my blessings hanging in the year, I call them home to myself today in Jesus’ name. I will enter the new year with joy and rejoicing, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Please share with others. God bless you.
