Focus: Philippians 2:14-15 - KJV
14. Do all things without murmurings and disputings: 15. That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
Philippians 2:12-17
The Church birthed by Christ is one unit, indivisible. Just like Eve was one unit, Christ’s (the second Adam’s) bride is equally one. It is the unit that Christ would present to Himself in the end, without spot or wrinkle. Of that one being, there are body parts, just like Adam’s wife also had numerous body parts. For the bride to be blameless, she cannot afford to engage in disputing with herself by allowing disagreements among her body parts. Hence, the Church is warned not to be like the children of Israel who were full of murmurings and disputing among themselves. When there is unity in the body, there is great gain: for as long as the rapture is delayed, the Church in unity is able, as the salt of the earth, to cure the decay in the world largely; and is able to brighten up the world to remove the void in it as the light thereof. For the church is meant to be set on a hill that cannot be hidden. But the murmurings and disputing are causing bitterness and disjointedness in the church as may be glaringly observed today. That is counter-productive and puts the Church in a bad light amongst the people of the world whose ordinary preoccupation is to murmur and dispute everything. Where then lies the difference between the Church, which is meant to be the bride of Christ, and the world?
The disunity among the Church on earth is infuriating Christ as He will only present a blameless Church unto Himself. His particular question is “where is the dead getting the emotion to engage in disputing and murmurings from?” if we are dead in Christ and live by Him, we should be dead to feelings and emotions that may bring about disputes and murmuring. If we agree to put our bodies under, like Paul, nothing done or left undone will cause us to murmur or dispute among ourselves. We are therefore, to put aside all things that are responsible for the divisions in the Church and rather dwell together in unity and love. For how sweet and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in love! It is bound to bring to the Church greater victories in the world.
SOLUTION: Unity is key for us to be presentable to and by Christ. When we unite, we become difficult for the world to break. Let all denominations work together in the ministry of reconciliation which is the only purpose in Christ. Let love be the driving force of the Church and not hypocrisy which brings up disputes. Do your bit as a part of the Church to ensure this, today.
Please pray:
· Give thanks to God for giving birth to the Church and making you a part of it
· Ask God to send the spirit of unity into His Church globally that every lie of the devil causing disunity may be expunged forthwith
· Ask God to imbue His Church with fresh fire for exploits in the ministry of reconciliation
· Tell God to please keep you blameless as part of His body, the Church
· Ask for things that will make your walk with Christ more glorious going forward
