The Beauty Of The Lord

Focus: Psalms 27:4 - KJV

4. One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.

1 Corinthians 13:5-14

There is a kind of glory that protrudes from the presence of God such that those who appear in His presence end up being beautified by the same glory which represents the beauty of God’s holiness. What the glory does is also to put the enemy into confusion and to get the bearer of such beauty to a height which is not easily explicable. That glory made the face of Moses to shone like light; it made the three apostles of Jesus of the inner circle to perceive a scenery that depicted beauty and awe to them. The same beauty is available to everyone that desires it and the place to getting it is to offer praises unto God for He inhabits the praises of His people.

The Ark of the Covenant, back in the day, represented the presence and the glory of God amongst the Israelites. Hence, when the Ark was seized in battle, it was often acclaimed that the glory had departed from Israel. On one of the occasions when David decided to bring back the Ark of His glory back to Israel to dwell, he saw Uzzah struck dead for touching the Ark and was displeased with the Lord’s doing. He therefore transferred the Ark to the house of Obed-Edom who was a lay about and whose death would not be felt by any. Incidentally, when Obed-Edom received the Ark into his home, he received the presence, glory and beauty of the Lord which transformed his person to one whom the king envied to desire taking back the Ark from his house. But, guess what: from that which Obed-Edom had seen of the Ark, he refused to leave the presence of the Ark and became a gate keeper wherever the Ark was such that he served two generations of kings while staying close to the Ark as a gatekeeper.

It is quite funny that people are being begged nowadays to come to the presence of God. David said, I was glad when I was asked to go to the house of the Lord. Today’s people care less about the house of the Lord and are sure missing the glory and the beauty of the Lord that flows from His presence, by refusing to go there. When Solomon dedicated the Temple he built in the name of the Lord, the train of the Lord’s presence filled the temple like a smoke to the extent that even the ministers who ordinarily were called men of Gods could not minister. David knew how to attract the beauty of the Lord to himself: he was fond of singing praises to draw it down. Incidentally, it is the same beauty that was responsible for his success through life. Greater success than David had is promised those who will radiate the indescribable beauty of the Lord’s holiness. As many as will also appear in the Lord’s presence by gathering with the saints frequently to praise Him, will not miss out on the benefits of the Lord’s beauty.

SOLUTION: Seek the Lord’s presence always and at every opportunity, gather with the saints to praise the Lord.

Please pray:

·      Give thanks to God for affording us the beauty of His holiness that we may always radiate His glory at every opportunity

·      Ask God to please come with His glory and beauty of holiness every time you appear in His presence

·      Ask God to please let your person radiate His glory better than Moses or David did in their time

·      Pray God to make His glory upon your life show forth beauty in the midst of men and the angels

·      Ask for your daily bread today

If you are blessed by this post, kindly share with your contacts, as well as others, that they may be blessed also. Thank you and may God bless you abundantly as you do so, in Jesus’ name
