Focus: Romans 12:2 - KJV
2. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Ephesians 5:10-14
For those who are not fully determined to stay in the light of God, the enemy has their joker card with him and he is already dangling it at their faces, bringing their resolutions for the year already to an end. They have begun to see the old things of darkness and have started to ruminate over them with a view to launching back into them. They are suddenly becoming conformed to the world of darkness and jettisoning the transformation the light brings. For them, it is not only sad but disheartening.
Those that must shine in the promised Light must learn to leave the old ways of darkness out of their minds and imbibe the culture of the light; they must resist the temptation to do evil and stick with the good which the Lord demands. The will of God for us is that we do things that are worthy of Him, the Light. Good things that portray love as against evil things that point to selfishness and destruction. Not only shall we shine, our light will also translate into driving darkness far from our environment if only we will set our mind in transformation to the marvelous light of God.
Today, let us like brother Paul himself, take our minds out of our evil doctrines and beliefs, but have it renewed by dwelling more on the assignment of God for us in the light, forgetting the old things completely and redeeming the time in the new pursuit so that the promise of joy may come through today and the enemy may no longer be able to reach us, in the light. Let us be determined and strong to stay focused because of the goal ahead which will not fail.
Please pray:
Father, whatever will make my mind return to darkness, please keep it far away from me. Give me the grace to ruminate only on positive things of light that I may continue to dwell with you and enjoy your joy which will continue to strengthen me, in Jesus’ name. I come against every machination of the evil one casting darts of darkness into my mind and embrace the rays of light from you instead, in Jesus’ name. Let your light therefore bring goodness my way today in Jesus’ name.
