Stop Speaking Against God

Focus: Malachi 3:13 - KJV

13. Your words have been stout against me, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, What have we spoken so much against thee?

Malachi 3:13-15

Observations will show that because of the harshness of life that many are going through in this current age, which hardness had long been prophesied, many people are fond of speaking horrible things to and about the Lord. This is absolutely unhelpful. They see the wicked who seem to appear affluent and blossomy, whilst those they assume are good are weighed down in hardship. Rather than seek the face of God for mercy, they assume it is unprofitable to serve God, wondering what they gained from their serving God in the past. This indeed, is the prevalent situation in many nations of the world, today.

The children of Israel had on their side the all-sufficient God but when they got into the wilderness where, even though He served them daily bread that they labored not for, they preferred to murmur against God and to return to their haters who would rather give them arduous tasks and burdens. But the God of love, whose yoke is easy and burden light, would rather that they took His burden instead. When they hearkened to God and followed His prescription, they lived. Unfortunately, those given to murmuring were left to their folly which prevented them from getting to the promised land.

The Lord is saying lovingly but tersely today that enough of the murmurings and harsh words against God for, He asserts affirmatively, that He is not responsible for the downturn that men are going through but the fact that we are turned away from Him. Those who appear to be calling His name majorly praise Him with their lips but their hearts are far from Him. If, however, we will take a turn today, by making up our minds to seek Him genuinely and do His will, the turnaround we will experience would make that which happened at the gate of Samaria child’s play.

Please pray:

Father, I thank you for the grace to know you and to live in obedience to you. In any way that I may have been a murmurer, please forgive me in your love. From today, give me the enablement to live my life in praises unto you, no matter the circumstances of the sphere I live in, in Jesus’ name. By reason of my obedience and new found stance in you, please turn around my captivity and that of my nation to the chagrin of naysayers and the glory of your name alone, better than you did for Israel in those days, in Jesus’ name.

Please share with others. God bless you.
