Salvation Cometh

Focus: Psalms 85:9 - KJV

9. Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.

Jonah 3:1-10

Our God is not wicked. His faithfulness is forever more. It is sin that puts man into bondage under Satan. When man is yoked towards destruction by the enemy, if the victim fears God and submits to Him, then God arises on his behalf to bring salvation from bondage, to him. This is not just applicable to the individual but also to a people or nation. When a nation repents from their evil ways to call on God in awe of Him, salvation comes to the said nation and God heals their land.

Nineveh was a nation of the wicked. In fact, when the Lord sent His prophet to go there, like He sent Ananias to help Saul of Tarsus, the reaction of the prophet was to say “Lord, you want me to go and die?” But, when eventually the people of Nineveh heeded the warning of God, feared Him and repented from their ways, God averted the calamity that was headed their way, to the chagrin of the prophet who had believed they deserved all the calamity that may befall them.

The Lord is extending the elasticity of His mercy towards someone, a people or nation today; He is willing to bring glory to their land if only they would repent from their evil ways, fear and submit to Him at this time. Today is the day of salvation for all that would repent. Let everyone seek the Lord while He is yet near. Do not allow the elasticity of mercy to snap before you have a rethink.

Please pray:

Lord, we thank you for your mercy that endures for our sakes. We bend our knees unto you our King and plead for your mercy in our individual, as well as collective affairs; that by your mercy we may receive salvation from the doom the enemy had prepared for us, and that your glory may fill our land more than ever in Jesus’ name. Please let the glory begin to show from today, that all eyes may see and glorify your name, in Jesus’ name.

Please share with others. God bless you.
