Repent!

Focus: Luke 13:3 - KJV

3. I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

Acts 3:18-23

There are acts we do that we assume are in tandem with the will of God but are far from it. Such actions have the tendency to draw severe consequences from the realms particularly from the enemy, as when we are not on the side of God, we are exposed to the attack of the enemy. Many are in that light but because they are not facing a devastation of sort currently, they view those who are being devastated as if they are the worst of sinners. Meanwhile the log in their own eyes cannot be compared to the mere specs in the eyes that had been so affected. Hence, the Lord calls out to them to repent from their ways lest worse devastation comes their ways. For example, Job’s friends were full of self-righteousness and ill description of the person of God in the life of Job. In their minds, they knew God so much not knowing that they were misrepresenting Him.

Saul of Tarsus, like his colleagues who were members of the scribe, would have been jubilant when Christ was being crucified, for after a while, he got the fiat to harass, arrest and mess those who operated proclamation of Jesus as Christ up. He assumed with them that he was fulfilling the purpose of God. This, Peter spoke tersely against and called them to repentance that were in that mindset so that they may not be destroyed, for everyone who rejects the voice of God and fail to believe the Christ is set for destruction. Like Saul of Tarsus, many today are on the path of moving against Christ and His ministry, yet they assume they are actually fulfilling Christ’s ministry. Problem is, God is not swayed by what men call mistakes. The standard is: is it of God or not? If it is of God it is approved, if it is not, then there are consequences. Paul suffered the consequences of his actions as Saul.

The Lord is asking us to test all spirits and hold on to only that which is true. It is not enough to say I did it because that is what some leaders have been teaching. No. The leaders will answer for their misdeeds just like everyone else. Hence, if we find that what you practice or are called to do, does not pass the test of the words of God through Christ, the sooner we repent the better for us so that we may not partake of the devastation that awaits the disobedient. And, honestly, there are many who are so disobedient and ought to repent but believe strongly in their misdeeds, having the mind they are defending God.

SOLUTION: Nothing pleases God like godliness. And godliness is being on the right side of God by doing His will at all time. We cannot be godly unless and until we fulfil the will of God as enunciated by Christ. Check therefore to be sure Christ supports your position before taking it. Saul of Tarsus regretted his old ways. Thank God he repented. You can also still make it. Only repent if you must.

Please pray:

·      Thank God for His loving kindness in revealing Himself to you through the Lord Jesus Christ

·      Please pray that God will not allow the enemy to distort the understanding you have of God from the leading of Jesus Christ

·      Pray that every fable the enemy has sown into you through some “leaders of faith” or whoever, be expunged and replaced by the undiluted word of life proceeding from Christ

·      Ask God to please show you His way that you may never be a part of the devastation to come upon unrepentant people

·      Ask for your daily bread today

If you are blessed by this post, kindly share with your contacts, as well as others, that they may be blessed also. Thank you and may God bless you abundantly as you do so, in Jesus’ name.
