Purifying The Priests

Focus: Malachi 3:3 - KJV

3. And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.

Malachi 3:1-5

Our God is a Consuming Fire. Impurities have no place in Him. He is coming soon to separate His own from the impostors. Those who qualify to be His shall be refined in His fire so that they may be truly worthy of Him. Every impurity found in them shall be burnt off so that they may be presentable unto Him in their glittering. But those who are full of filth shall be consumed in the fire as they possess nothing refinable. Incidentally, as judgment would commence in the house of the Lord, it is the priests that will first be attracted into the fire. The impure ones are bound to burn.

The sons of Eli were priests in the stead of their father in Israel but they were sons of Belial by reason of their filth and hypocrisies. When the Consuming Fire visited Israel at their time, they were consumed therein including their father. God is about to descend with His judgment over mankind. When He came to Zechariah and the same contested His voice, He purified Zechariah with His fire which made him dumb for the period of the wife’s pregnancy up to her delivery. It is indeed a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

The Lord is sending out this note of warning to us so that none of us will be part of them that will perish. Having impurities that will be burnt off while being refined is bad enough. Carrying so much debris that makes one worthless in front of the fire will be a calamity. Hence, the sooner we repent and shed all impurities the better for us all. Those that are found pure shall be made rulers with Christ and would reign with Him forever. It is a day of decision and choice. Let us be careful to settle for God so that the name Ichabod will not resurface at our time.

Please pray:

Thank you, father for loving me and sending your warning my way to guide me into purity so that I may be able to withstand your refining fire when it comes. I know it is only by your Spirit I may succeed; hence, please keep me pure to the end by your Spirit, in Jesus’ name. Let no power of hell be able to hold me in infirmities and any form of impurity, dear Lord, in Jesus’ name. This very day, keep me bright and shining for all eyes to see, in Jesus’ name.

Please share with others. God bless you.
