Focus: Matthew 5:9 - KJV
9. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
James 3:17-18
God is a man of war; yet He is Love. In His character of love, He would rather have us dwell together in unity. It is they that have hearts of stone/clay and not of flesh/wax that gets hardened against peace, and thereby entice war. It is the same sun that melts the wax that hardens the clay. If the Lord sheds His light into a heart, it either melts as wax, or it hardens as stone just like Pharaoh’s heart. That which hardens invites war from the Lord.
Beyond being at peace with everyone, the Lord also wants us to intervene so as to ensure peace where there are squabbles. Those who do so are blessed as they are caused peacemakers. Let’s not be promoters of strife between different individuals by taking tales around to further aggravate the situation. When we do so, we engage in the enterprise of Satan. God frowns at such and will not likely bless any such person.
Take time therefore to always seek to mend fences among quarrelling people even as you abstain from being quarrelsome yourself. The greatest way to be peacemakers is through evangelism. By it, we make peace between unbelievers and their God. That indeed is where blessedness resides the most.
Please pray:
Father, I thank you for giving me a heart of flesh that I may yield to your instruction, always. Please do not let my heart ever be hardened like Pharaoh’s heart, against your word. From this day, help me by your Spirit to be at peace with all men and be holy so that I may always carry your presence. Let me receive the grace today to be a swift peacemaker including in evangelism, that unity may be promoted the more amongst men and your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. In all I do, please let this day bring me blessings beyond ordinary measure in Jesus’ name.
Please share with others. God bless you.
