Pray Your Way Out Of Trouble

Focus: Jonah 2:7 - KJV

7. When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple.

Jonah 2:1-10

God is interested in the wellbeing of His creatures. Often times, the enemy creates a wedge between man and his God based on the choices of man that subsumes him under the rulership and authority of the enemy. However, once the man realizes himself and discovers his lack of ability to take the wedge away, he has a way out through the instrumentality of prayer. His prayers however will not ascend to the Father unless he first purges himself of the cause of the wedge. Just like it was necessary for Joshua to remove the nuisance Achan created after the defeat of Jericho, we must take away the offending action that brought about the wedge. Some will pretend to have done so without really doing it and get the wedge refortified. But once the Lord finds from a pure heart a sincerity of purpose, He steps in on behalf of the fellow to remove the wedge when He cries to God in prayer.

Jonah was a prophet of the Most High God. God had a purpose for Jonah; he had his own mind as to what he wanted to do. While he was moving against God’s purpose, he became subservient to the devil and the latter caused turmoil on his journey that made him to end up in the belly of a fish. The turmoil in the boat was nothing compared to the suffocation in the belly of the fish. Once Jonah realized himself, he repented of his frolic and decided in his heart to be tuned to God’s purpose. He then cried out to God from his horrible pit of devastation. Alas, the Lord arose for him and commanded the fish to vomit him at the place where his purpose fulfilment was nearest. There is a user of this Devotional who has been somewhat devastated because of past choices, the Lord is set to put the same back on course to greatness if only he would repent and ask God for help in prayer.

What the Lord is telling us today is that because of His love for us, He is always available to us if we will draw nigh unto Him in our prayers. It is that we have either refused to pray or, we have failed to acknowledge our wrong doings that we have remained in the troubled state longer than necessary. The Lord is drawing our minds to instruction so that He may be compelled to come to our aid. When we remain in disobedience, we constrain Him from coming to our aid. If only we can just swallow our pride, humble ourselves before Him in the place of prayer to show Him how incapacitated we are or would be without His help, then shall His strength be made greater in our weakness. When we refuse to rest on Him through faith, our struggling puts us to a sinking state even though we assume we are being helped by it. Only those who rest on Him in trouble receive His peace. Call on Him today.

SOLUTION: It is time to put our trust in the Lord by calling on Him in the place of prayer, regarding our troubles. When we do, He proves Himself. It does not matter the extent of the devastation; God is greater than it all. Pray conscientiously today.

Please pray:

·      Give thanks to God for giving you access to Himself through the instrumentality of prayer

·      Tell God you are willing to abide by His will and instruction for your life starting from today

·      Ask God to come to your aid in the current situation you find yourself, by removing the obstacle the enemy has erected against your progress

·      Ask God to take you from the wilderness straight to the promised destination for your life

·      Ask for your daily bread today

If you are blessed by this post, kindly share with your contacts, as well as others, that they may be blessed also. Thank you and may God bless you abundantly as you do so, in Jesus’ name
