Praise Begets Increase

Focus: Psalms 67:5-6 - KJV

5. Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. 6. Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us.

Psalms 67:1-7

At the voice of God, great things were formed. For there to be increase, God needs not till the ground or wait until it is tilled by another. Most of the vegetation man sees today were not a result of planting by any man. Yet, these vegetations contain food and medicine for the wellness of man. But then, despite all of these, many are hungered and diseased. More often than not, this is brought about by our turning our back on our God, who is responsible for making good things happen to us. Unfortunately, one of the myriads of ways by which we turn our backs on God is through our ingratitude. For the things that God gives to us, we do not consider to give Him praise and often times, we treat Him as if there is no big deal with His doings. The refusal to praise Him draws Him farther from us and by extension make increase to cease.

The ants of the field they give praise to God, the trees of the forest clap their hands; even the birds of the air sing to God. When they do, they get their supplies without much ado. But of all these praises, the most important to God is that of man to whom He committed the reins of the earth. As we become adamant and refuse to praise God, increase ceases and causes famine that affects the ants, the plants, the birds and all the animals in their habitats. When we repent from our headiness and pride, to return to God through praise, He shows mercy on us to return to us as He inhabits our praise. When He so smiles on us, the things He made for our good start to yield increase for us: hunger is tamed and sicknesses are eradicated. The other creatures return to good stead, as their needs are also supplied with ease again.

The Lord wants us to understand the impact of our praising Him. When we do, all things come to the obeisance of His name. When we do not, we affect other innocent creatures that ordinarily praise Him without being prompted to do so. The earlier we realize this the better for us and the entire earth in turn. Let us therefore, take time to praise God regularly so as to engender the earth to yield its increase unto us. Some of the creatures that hurt man today are brought to that state because the earth has not been yielding its increase to them, not as a fault of theirs but that of man that fail to offer praise. Is the Lord callous, then? No! The refusal to honor Him only takes Him out of the equation of our lives and whatever comes as a result can never be attributed to Him. He is just.

SOLUTION: Let us appoint a time in each day to give praises unto our God. If you have not been doing that before, please repent today and begin. The Lord asked for a tithe of all. Let us include time in the all and give a tenth of each day to God in praises, study and meditation. God will surely show forth in a mighty way as the earth yields its increase.

Please pray:

·      Give thanks to God for always being available to inhabit your praise to Him

·      Ask God to show you mercy for not having yielded to praising Him well enough in times past

·      Pray that the Lord will cause the earth to yield its increase unto you from now on better than ever before in Jesus’ name

·      Pray that the Lord will sustain you in praise and keep the earth in increase for your sake and that of all creatures

·      Ask for your daily bread for today

If you are blessed by this post, kindly share with your contacts, as well as others, that they may be blessed also. Thank you and may God bless you abundantly as you do so, in Jesus’ name.
