Pilgrims And Strangers We Are

Focus: Hebrews 11:15-16 - KJV

15. And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. 16. But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.

Hebrews 11:8-16

The believer, though he lives in the world, is not of the world. The work of believing is that the Lord, through His death and resurrection, has changed the trajectory in the realms, to the effect that the man has the ability again to be in dominion over the earth, through Him that ransomed him from death. And since that already happened, they that believe it are partakers of the new glory, to wit, man is restored in dominion through the Lord Jesus Christ. Meaning that, even though darkness prevails over the earth, the believer is not a resident thereof but is resident in the light while awaiting the city of light.

Those that came before the Christ, were of themselves and by themselves not comfortable with darkness but had no ability to transform the situation. All their efforts were done through the flesh even though they looked to God. But, when the one conceived of the Spirit came, He, by the Spirit was able to do that which the original people could not do. Man can now be repositioned to reflect the image of the living God as it was purposed from the beginning. By Christ, we all look forward to the new heaven and the new earth which is the city of lights that we hope to inherit very soon.

Friends, for the believer, his hope is renewed today like ever. We are not in the league of those who had gone before; it is our direct inheritance to have been part of this current age. If we believe to the end, that which the earlier comers had no access to is given to us on a platter of gold. But it is for them that will keep the faith to the very end. Hence, let us keep our minds renewed never to return into darkness but to keep focus on the heavenly kingdom which our Lord will give to us; a country of light where darkness is forbidden forever, and therein, God will not be ashamed to be called our God.

Please pray:

Father, we thank you for the promise of a better place where you will be present with us as our God and father. Please help us to keep our minds on your promise to the very end, in Jesus’ name. Lord, whilst we are still pilgrims and strangers on this side of eternity, please let your light shine through us that we may overcome darkness in all of our ways to the glory of your name, in Jesus’ name. Let this day witness our shining better than ever that every issue of darkness in our ways may depart, in Jesus’ name.

Please share with others. God bless you.
