Nothing Lost When All Is Set Aside For Christ

Focus: Luke 18:28-30 - KJV

28. Then Peter said, Lo, we have left all, and followed thee. 29. And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God's sake, 30. Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting.

Matthew 6:25-34

It is interesting to note that where the kingdom of God is concerned, economic principles of men have no bearing. For instance, when money is spent under human economic theories, the same reduces the purchasing power of the owner. But with God’s kingdom, everything spent or set aside for the sake thereof is not lost but gained not only in this present world but much more in the world to come. That is why, when devotees bring their tithes to the storehouse, rather than be shortchanged, God helps them to manage their resources. It is a mystery to them who do not yet believe or experience the same.

When the Lord met Peter and the sons of Zebedee where they toiled all night and caught nothing, He invited them to launch their nets; but only Peter launched his and caught a draught. Peter left all that he caught to follow Christ. The sons of Zebedee did the same (followed Christ). In the end, although these ones are no longer alive, their names are attached to so much wealth currently on earth. Meanwhile, while alive, all believers had things common and whatever anyone had, he brought to the feet of the Apostles led by Peter. The ones who left all for Christ, gained all through Christ.

There is a lesson for us all as believers to entrust our belongings unto God. If only we can make our resources available to God for His kingdom use on earth, then we shall have so much gain here on earth and much more in heaven. If we do not surrender it to Him, He has the ability to blow it all away. We ought not to allow our wealth be blown away before we yield it to the one who owns it all. Hearken to the voice of the Spirit.

Please pray:

Father, I thank you for I know that all I have is given to me by you. Help me through this realization not to withhold ever again, from you, that which you gave me in the first place. Let wealth locate me in such proportion that I may release it to your use and enhance the growth of your kingdom on earth, in Jesus’ name.

Please share with others. God bless you.
