Focus: Hebrews 10:39 - KJV
39. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.
Hebrews 10:26-39
It is absolutely nauseating to observe a dog eating again its vomit. It is practically disgusting. But that is what we do whenever, after having been shown the way of the Lord, we decide to turn our back on it to return to the way we had given up. In the realm, it is tantamount to leading the Lord to the cross again. How do we expect the Lord to tolerate us or that situation, ever?
A believer that fails to obey the leading of God in his life is simply returning to the devil. It is described as drawing back unto perdition, for he was first drawn out of it to safety through the blood of Jesus. But when we then start to prefer the perdition from which we were drawn out to the marvelous light of God that we are being offered, then, there is no further sacrifice for sin. What the Lord expects and demands of us is compliance and believing until the day when our reward is delivered as our souls are finally saved fully.
The devil does not want us to trust God. Hence, like he told Eve, he is fond of telling us all the “what ifs” so that we may doubt God. But what God expects of us is to be like the Hebrew men in the book of Daniel and lean on trusting God “even if”. Never allow the enemy to win you back. “What if you are thrown in the fire and you just burn for nothing believing God would rescue you?” is the voice of Satan in our minds. Let the devil know that “even if He does not show up, yet shall we serve Him to the very end.”
Please pray:
Father, I thank you for drawing me out of darkness into your marvelous light. I appreciate Your Lordship over my life as there is nothing comparable to it. Help me never to draw back from you into perdition, in the name of Jesus Christ. As I believe in you, dear Lord, let me never fail in my belief, to doubt your person or integrity, in Jesus’ name. Please keep me to the end till my soul be saved. And let the salvation of my soul as it is now, begin to draw your goodness and mercy my way from now, and even forever more in Jesus’ name.
Please share with others. God bless you.
