Magnifying Christ In Our Bodies

Focus: Philippians 1:20 - KJV

20. According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.

Romans 14:7-9

Every believer is made for the sake of magnifying Christ in their bodies. From the time of becoming born again, the believer’s body becomes the temple of the Holy Spirit, and through Christ, he is led into righteous living. It is no longer the business of the believer that because another being is doing something he perceives to be wrong, he should live his own life in condemnation and hatred of the said person, no. Rather, he is to live a Christly life in his own body for others to see and emulate.

The idea of the “holier than thou” life is not one commended by Christ for the believer. Hence, when there was a contention between the disciples of Paul and those of Apollos, which contention was tending towards a division in the body, Paul was quick to draw attention to the one who is responsible for the salvation of all as against Apollo or himself. When we allow contention among the brethren on the basis of who is right or wrong regarding one doctrine or another, we give victory to the enemy of the Church as such dissentions douse the brightness of the light we carry, as a Church.

The Lord is drawing our attention to the fact that we are called to magnify Christ and none other in our bodies, whether in life or death. If we do so, all focus will be on Christ and not ourselves or any other. Therefore, let every believer focus on the assignment and purpose of his calling with a view to magnifying Christ in his body. From this day, let us focus on our respective callings and stop seeking the fault of others to use as pivot for fame. God is never served in it.

Please pray:

Thank you, father for appointing me for your kingdom purposes in this world. Help me to fulfil my kingdom assignment in you in Jesus’ name. Let not my good deeds become evil spoken of in any way, dear Lord, in Jesus’ name. Let me never hear the voice saying depart from me worker of iniquity; rather, in all I do, let me be acceptable unto you to the end, in Jesus’ name.

Please share with others. God bless you.
