Focus: Hebrews 13:20-21 - KJV

20. Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, 21. Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

John 15:1-5

The believer has no life of his own outside of the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus is the vine on whom we all are attached to be able to bring forth the manner of fruit the husbandman would want of us. Some were actually grafted onto the vine as they were never originally brought forth by the vine. But once grafted, they receive the nutrients to grow and live from the vine. When detached, the branch dies. But when they remain grafted, the husbandman prunes them as He wills, that they may please Him.

This exactly is what the life of the believer is. When we remain in Christ, we bring forth pleasing fruit to the Father. But we can do nothing without Christ. He is the one that died for us to be accepted into the family of God. As we continue to live, God works on us that we may become perfect in every good work to achieve His own will. But then, His will is only attainable through Jesus Christ, the vine. He supplies all we need to nourish us in all weather, that we may remain pleasing to the Father.

Let us therefore be particular to remain connected to Christ, our sustainer. Those who live their lives outside of Christ are disconnected from the true vine and the husbandman is never pleased with such detached branch. If you find yourself detached in anyway and you appear to be withering, please find a way to get reconnected so as not to die, spiritually.

Please pray:

Father, I thank you for being my keeper and glorify your name for the blood that was shed to bring me into relationship with you. I pray that you please keep me healthily connected to Christ, so that I may bear fruit pleasing unto you. If there be anything in me, clogging the grace to stand and not faint as a result of the purging, in Jesus’ name. This day, make me the best that you can, that I may begin to enjoy the more your blessings from the vine, in Jesus’ name.

Please share with others. God bless you.
