Focus: 2 Peter 2:5 - KJV
5. And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;
2 Peter 2:1-9
God is real and true: He is the same from eternity to eternity. He does not change. He detests disobedience and will not change from His stance on it. Many assume, because Jesus died for sin and they speak about accepting Jesus, then they will not suffer for sin. That is a lie taught by lying teachers. Unless and until we follow the ways prescribed by Christ, He is not yet our Lord and we cannot assume to be graced by Him in our evil acts.
It is true that the acts of God in the days of Noah, Lot and so on when He “poured His wrath on sinners” happened in the Old Testament; but here is brother Peter telling us to beware lest the same predicament befalls us. That is New Testament. Even Christ Himself said the day of the Lord shall be like the days of Noah and Sodom and Gomorrah. If we fail to heed, God will not deny Himself. The people of the days of Noah also refused to accede to Noah’s preaching. It did not stop the flood from happening.
Friends, it is the beginning of the last month of the year. Let us reflect and have a change of heart to relate better with God as this present world is drawing to an end. Let us do what will give us credence before the Lord and stop behaving as if God does not know what He is doing. Adam messed up; Jesus came to clean up the mess and to prepare us against messing up like Adam. If we end up messing up, it is no longer the fault of Adam, neither is it that of Jesus. He has shown us the way; if we refuse to follow, it is our undoing and not His. Happy New Month.
Please pray:
Father, I thank you for bringing me into the month of December. Thank you also for appointing unto me teachers who do not teach heresies. Please help me to heed your warnings and words so as not to be wiped away with the world in judgment, in Jesus’ name. This day, purge me anew with the blood of Jesus, and make my heart to hinge on to the way the Lord has shown us, in Jesus’ name.
