11. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

John 15:9-14

Today marks the end of the second month in the year. Blessed be God for keeping us alive and not making us to be part of the doom statistics that have been kept, since the year began. On this last day of the month of February, God wants us to understand how so much we shortchange ourselves regarding joy, when we fail to follow and observe His instructions. The coming of Christ is for a purpose: to instruct us in righteousness that we may have an unfettered access to the Father and gain joy fully, thereby. A refusal or neglect to follow the teachings and instructions of Christ makes the coming of Christ, as it pertains to such people, a waste of time and resources on Christ’s part.

Imagine the whole lot that Christ had to go through for us to be reconciled to God, away from our filthy sinful nature: He was full of glory with the father in heaven when He volunteered to take on the form of a man; The glory He had which was to live as light, He set aside to come and dwell in the darkness that pervaded the earth; He went through all the torments and torture any human can experience for the sake of experiencing the pressures any man can feel; Then, He bore the sin of man upon Himself, before which, knowing that the consequence of bearing sin is separation from the father, He felt the agony of such separation and detested it such that He prayed until blood came from His purrs like sweat; Of course, He suffered the separation and lamented it greatly while on the cross. And then, those for whom He did that are not taking the benefit.

It is important for believers to live up to their calling as friends of Christ and stop denigrating the person of Jesus by failing to follow that which He has instructed which is meant primarily for our joy to be full. If we must glorify God for His good deeds for us, then we need to ensure we take full benefit thereof by obeying Him to the letter, to wit, live in love through and through.

Please pray:

Father, I thank you for all you went through that I may have joy in full. The grace to obey your instructions fully so as not to lose out on the benefit of your sacrifice, please release upon me, in Jesus’ name. Everything that may want to debar me from fullness of joy, father remove today, in Jesus’ name. All that I need to do to operate in fullness of joy, please let it begin now, in Jesus’ name. Whatsoever I have lost to disobedience, let your mercy restore same to me today, in Jesus’ name. Thank you, Lord for the month of February; and as we step into March tomorrow, let our joy begin in a fresh dimension, in Jesus’ name.

Please share with others. God bless you.
