Focus: 1 Thessalonians 3:12 - KJV
12. And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you:
1 Thessalonians 4:1-10
Every man that has ever lived and even those still living, were, at a point in time, unified in one man, Adam. When God achieved this, it was that there may be unity in the flesh so that there be no division amidst brothers who indeed, are one flesh. Unfortunately, the enemy has so deceived man to be warring against himself by separating amongst brothers. Rather than unite in love, man united with evil minds at barbel, and that was why they were scattered.
The enemy knows that if we allow love to thrive amongst us, he would have no room to operate his enterprise, again. Hence, the Lord enjoins us to love one another increasingly; not only as brethren in Christ, but toward all men: whether heathen or otherwise, Jew or gentile. If only we are able to bring this to bear, then will there be peace in our homes, societies and indeed, the entire world.
It is rather demeaning to hurt a fellow human in any way whatsoever. It is more gratifying to assist and support those who the enemy is dealing with. We ought to feel their pain as we are at best, cousins. Oh, he has been wicked towards you? Very well; just accept that he was deceived to do so and lack the kind of understanding you possess; but love him still. That is what the Lord is demanding from us all.
Please pray:
Father, we thank you for loving us and making us in your image and likeness; thank you for dying to clean the mess we created so that we can live thereafter. We submit absolutely to your will from today; the grace to love others like you love us, please release upon us, in Jesus’ name. Give us deeper understanding of the message of love that we may dwell in it forever more, in Jesus’ name. Do give us the benefits embedded in love in all our affairs from today, in Jesus’ name. If at any time the enemy pushes to take love out of our hearts, please create a barrier to block out the enemy’s dats from us, in Jesus’ name.
