Heart Inscribed Words

Focus: Ezekiel 3:10 - KJV

10. Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, all my words that I shall speak unto thee receive in thine heart, and hear with thine ears.

Jeremiah 26:2-6

When the Lord speaks to us, it is not for fun. Every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God is for our profiting. God is not a talkative and therefore does not waste words. When we fail to follow the word of God, it is to our own detriment and not God’s. Those who follow the word of God have testimonies to share for the good that follows. The word is however, not only to be heard in passing. It is to be inscribed on our hearts that it may become indelible and therefore, a part of our beings. Unless it so be, the tendency is to forget at the crucial time it is needed to be drawn upon.

Moses had inscribed God’s words upon his heart and drew from it from time to time to be the leader of the Jews out of the bondage of Egypt. But a time came when he merely heard the word and failed to inscribe the same on his heart. He was to speak to the rock to bring forth water. That which he inscribed was the first experience of striking the rock once. Hence, since he did not reckon to inscribe the words of Him who must be obeyed in his heart, he perhaps assumed if the first time we struck once with result, striking twice a second time must be the instruction. That was the end of his ministry.

The Lord is enjoining us today to be careful to write down His word to the letter; not only on tablets, but clearly on our hearts so as to draw therefrom whenever it becomes necessary. If we must succeed in this realm, we need every word that proceeds from the mouth of God to do. Turning our back on the Lord’s instruction is turning away from Him. Those who turn away from Him are assumed to have declared enmity and cannot expect to prosper from God who has been made a foe by them. It is while we are on the side of the Lord that victory is assured. Fighting against God is a beckon on disaster. Please don’t.

Please pray:

Father, I thank you for not allowing me to be deaf to your instruction at any time. Please give me the grace and enablement to always inscribe the same on my heart never to forget, in Jesus’ name. Even as I draw from the repository of your word in my heart from time to time, please help me to abide therein and never deviate from it so that I may end well and strong, in Jesus’ name. Let your word bring me total victory over the enemy today, in Jesus’ name.

Please share with others. God bless you.
