Grafted Into Christ’s Hands

Focus: John 10:28-29 - KJV

28. And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

John 10:22-30

Christ said categorically that no one comes unto Him unless the same is drawn by the Father. So, it is not a surprise that no matter how much some people are preached to, they will never be drawn to Christ, even if the preaching is done with the tone of fire. It happened in the days of Christ Himself, when the Jews witnessed His works and yet queried if He was the Christ or not. They refused to believe Him and sought that He would say things for them to hold against Him as blasphemy. Incidentally, there are those whom the Lord Himself has chosen to be part of the flock of Christ. They are given to Him by the father who drew them. And as they are in His hands, no power is able to take them away from Him: not tribulation, not pain not any affliction that the enemy may bring to them.

Those that the Lord has given to Jesus cannot be plucked out of His hands. The early Church faced all manner of persecution, tribulation and death. But the record shows that even in the face of death, the sheep of Christ were unflinching. Stephen sermonized in the face of persecutors and people who bore stones with a view to killing him. Even when he was being stoned, he did not plead for his life but rather looked to his Shepherd who rose to receive him to glory. When Peter was placed in dungeon with the threat of death the following day, he could not lose his sleep, but slept soundly and had to be woken up by the angel sent to rescue him. Paul and Silas were preaching, praying and praising God in the gaol where they were kept preparatory to death. They were grafted in Christ’s hands by God and therefore, could not be plucked out.

The Lord is saying to us today that we need not fear whatever man may want to do to us for the sake of the Kingdom: for as much as we are grafted in Jesus’ hands, no devil can take us out of there. For us to prove that we are so grafted, however, we need to be stable in Him, not running from pillar to post seeking help where they are not. We need to show our belief in Christ and stick with it. The sheep is reckoned a stupid animal. Anyone that must be grafted in Christ’s hands must be a fool for His sake. Those who are wise in their own conceit can never be fully submissive to the life of Christ. They are often wriggling out of the good place the Lord has prepared for them, seeking solace like goats in places where the predator is waiting for them.

SOLUTION: Never wrest yourself out of the hands of Christ. Stay where the Father has placed you. Hear only the voice of Christ: any other person pretending to be your shepherd is at best a hireling. Discard them and stick with Christ.

Please pray:

·      Give thanks to God for His faithfulness in placing you in Jesus’ hands, where no one can pluck you out

·      Ask God to please help you to stay put where He has kept you so that you will not by yourself stray away

·      Ask God to please keep all predators away from you and your family that you may ever remain in the safety of the Lord’s hands

·      Pray that for the sake of the Lord, you may be able to do anything that the Lord wills

·      Ask for your daily bread

If you are blessed by this post, kindly share with your contacts, as well as others, that they may be blessed also. Thank you and may God bless you abundantly as you do so, in Jesus’ name.
