Focus: Zephaniah 2:3 - KJV
3. Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD'S anger.
Amos 5:14-20
Prophesies had gone forth even before the advent of Christ, that the day of the Lord shall come someday. Christ Himself affirms it that it would be like a thief in the night and gave a pointer to the days of Noah, as our clear example of what to expect. For emphasis, the day of the Lord that is soon to come is not a day of joy for many. It will be full of darkness and gloom. What precisely happened in the days of Noah? The Lord became tired of the wickedness that man imbibed from the enemy, that made them unattractive to their maker. And, since the presence of the Lord had sustained the earth from the doom the enemy planned for it, as soon as the Lord got fed up and released the earth, water from all the realms overwhelmed the earth and submerged it, in a manner of speaking, to the extent that everyone without a covering was consumed by it. However, the Lord did not allow the effect of the enemy’s doing to touch a family: it was the family of the righteous and meek Noah, who was obedient unto God and followed His words. God hid them from the destruction that happened in their generation.
During the advent of Christ, He further warned us, confirming the sayings of the prophets, that He will be coming back to separate unto Himself the righteous of the earth and leave the remaining where they choose to be: under the government of the enemy. Those that He takes from the earth unto Himself, will be hidden from the destruction that would come on that day. The similarity to the days of Noah is that, everyone will still be living as if all things are normal – weddings, house warmings, feasting, child bearing, violence of all sorts, pervert judgments and all manner of things – would still be happening; and then, those that would be hidden from the judgmental doom, will be taken out just like Noah was hidden in the ark when the Lord shut him in. The same is about to happen soon but in a different fashion. Just to be clear, only those considered righteous and meek by God, will He hide away from the destruction.
Beloved, believe it or not, the day of the Lord shall soon come. It is important we start seeking God’s shelter. On that day, like the Amorites, when the iniquity of man is considered full, God will take His own and leave the world to the wicked one. Only those who are properly hidden in the righteousness of Christ shall be considered for the Lord’s ransom. They are those who are meek in that they have not used their position to hurt others, including those who offended them. Lack of meekness is due to unforgiveness and vendetta spirit. God is not named in such. There is something about the ministry of reconciliation which the Lord has committed unto us His followers: we are to reconcile the world to the father by showing them the way to the light; and then we are to make all effort possible to be reconciled to our human ‘adversaries’. This was why the Lord requests that we pray for them that despitefully use us. Only by these things can we start having the mind of being hidden from the destruction that is coming on earth.
SOLUTION: Preach the Gospel to others that it may account for your love unto God and to your fellow beings; then, let go of every issue that is causing malice in you. Manifest righteousness and meekness in all of your doing. The Lord sees these things.
Please pray: Father, I do not belong to the devil and therefore I refuse to end up with him. In essence, every trap he is setting to have me condemned with him unto destruction in the end, please scuttle for your name’s sake in the name of Jesus Christ. I hide myself in the righteousness of Christ; please count me worthy of you, when you come for your Church, in Jesus’ name.
