God Is Not Deaf

Focus: Psalms 38:15 - KJV

15. For in thee, O LORD, do I hope: thou wilt hear, O Lord my God.

Isaiah 59:1-8

Our God is all knowing to the extent that He hears even the thoughts of our hearts. Those things we think about in the place of prayer are loud enough to His hearing when we belong to Him. He is never barred from hearing the righteous. But sin is a barrier. It separates the sinner from God such that he no longer hears God’s words, neither is he near enough to God to be heard by Him even when he is shouting.

When Adam was created, he heard God clearly and regularly. When sin set in, he got so separated that the voice of the Lord scared him. He did hear because the Lord sought him in his strange position. Christ, the only begotten of the father, lamented being forsaken when He bore the sin of man on the cross. But there is hope of being heard for the righteous since it is the Lord’s promise that even before he calls, the Lord would answer. Before bearing the sin of man, Christ needed not to sweat at Lazarus’ graveside for the dead to show forth.

There is a renewed hope for those who will live by the mandate of Christ that every time they call upon the Lord, He would hear and answer them. If it appears the prayers being said by anyone today is not being heard or answered, there is need to check carefully that sin has not become the obstacle. Let us keep our hearts pure that we may be audible to our God. If He did not hear His faithful Son because of sin, how can we assume He would countenance us unless we first renounce our sin?

Please pray:

Father, I thank you for giving mankind the leeway to abdicate sin from our paths and lives. This very day, over my life, I renounce everything associated with sin and indeed, the devil. Please cleanse me with the blood of Jesus and make me whiter than snow that there may be no more barrier to my prayers, in Jesus’ name. As I cry to you today, please meet me at the particular points of my needs, whether known or unknown to me, in Jesus’ name. Let there be clear access unto you, Lord in the place of prayer, in Jesus’ name.

Please share with others. God bless you.
