1. O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
Lamentations 3:1-8,22
There are circumstances and situations that make it appear the Lord has withdrawn Himself from the believer, sometimes. The one who had received answers to prayers before they were muttered, becomes the one who asks endlessly without a word or voice from the father, his situation not improving or giving way, in anyway. Even when it seems all is lost, we must realize that it is for the mercies of God that endures towards us that we have not been consumed. When there is still have breath, it simply means God is not done with us and we ought to be thankful for there is hope for the morrow.
Job was a special kind of believer in God. The enemy had sought to deal with him devastatingly that he may never think of being thankful or holding God faithful again. Job was tormented to a very large extent that he had no child, no possession but irritant friends constantly adding salt to his injury. Even the wife would rather have him commit suicide that she may be free. Nonetheless, Job loved himself well enough to still cherish life. His case would have been over if God had not restricted the enemy from touching his life. He refused to curse God and remained thankful to Him until he was restored doubly for his loss, a restoration he never envisaged.
The Lord is saying to someone today that even though darkness has inured all night for the person, today will be the daybreak of joy for him as long as he remains thankful to the merciful God. No matter what we may be going through in the hands of the enemy, if not for the mercies of God, it could have been worse. That same mercy will see us all through the current light affliction such that our glorious morning would erase the pain we experienced in the course of the affliction. Have faith still in God and give Him thanks, always.
Please pray:
Your mercy Lord has sustained us thus far, dear Lord: for this we say a big thank you. Kindly forgive us for any grumbling or ingratitude we may have shown while in torment of any kind. Please let your mercy never depart from us in any way, in Jesus’ name. Please keep the enemy far from us and restore your hedge of protection around us to cause the affliction in our lives to cease this very day, in Jesus’ name. Let there be a full restoration and more, of the things we lost to the enemy’s affliction, O Lord, in Jesus’ name.
Please share with others. God bless you.
