Focus: Psalms 25:12 - KJV

12. What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.

Psalms 25:12-15

The fear of the Lord is said to be the beginning of wisdom. Fearing God is about holding Him in awe and never treat Him shabbily. It is a bad treatment for a creature to relate with his Creator in such a manner as to denigrate Him by disapproving of His words or instructions. Whenever we do so, we subsume God under other creatures that we honor instead. Meanwhile, God is Jealous. If, however, we give God the honor due to Him, He is sure to teach us His way further, that we may not cross the line.

When God found David, a man after His heart, He taught him His way that David may remain in good standing with Him. When David fumbled out of His way, He sent a prophet to use His rod and staff to put David back in line, just because David feared Him. In comparison, Saul did not enjoy such latitude because he feared God less and would rather do the things of God his own way. For David, his children are perpetuated on the throne of Israel; but for Saul, his legacy got truncated.

God wants us to release our hearts unto wisdom. That is served when we hold Him in awe and honor His every directive to do and remain in them. It is not only that we will be pleasing to God, we surely will be doing it for the benefit of ourselves and our offspring. Many families are in crisis because their forebears did not fear God. If they had, the benefit would have inured. We can do better by ensuring our fear of God bring benefits to our generations.

Please pray:

Father, I thank you for instilling in me your fear so that you have been directing me in your way. Please keep me in your fear forever, that I may be sustained in your way to the end, in Jesus’ name. Let your fear become great blessings unto me and my offspring, in Jesus’ name. Please draw many more to yourself to fear you and do your will, through and through, dear Lord, in Jesus’ name. Bless us with your lovingkindness today more than ever, in Jesus’ name.

Please share with others. God bless you.
