Endure Temptation

Writer: Jide OlaoreJide Olaore

Focus: James 1:12 - KJV

12. Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

Luke 6:22-23

The mission of the enemy is to ensure that the entire human population deny God by challenging His authority. Whenever a man appears to love God and stand in His love, the enemy does everything possible to cause him to be derailed and cast doubts on the genuineness of the one whom he loves. He brings this about through trials and temptations and there is no extent he would not go in a bid to achieve his aim, which ultimately is destruction. Yet, those who will please God must believe that He is, and a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. They are those who will endure all the trials and temptations the enemy may bring their way, standing firm in the love of God.

Job was certified good by God. The devil was not happy about it and brought an avalanche of trials against Job with a view to causing Job to deny God. Job was so resilient and he refused to deny his God. The devil tried the same with Daniel and also his three Hebrew friends. Neither of them denied their God and got the reward for their resilience. The Apostles of Jesus came under serious fire from the enemy. As many as refused to deny their God remain blessed to the end. The persecution of Christ is an example to every believer. Like He told us, if He was so tormented, we cannot expect less, for the servant is not greater than the Master.

The Lord is therefore saying to us today that trials and temptations are expected for the believer as the enemy is never happy that we love our God. However, if we can truly endure, He promises to glorify us now and even after. He also wants us to understand that as believers in Christ, the enemy is already our footstool. Hence, whenever he comes with his trials and temptations, at the glimpse of it and before it takes a toll on us, we can promptly resist and rebuke the devil and he will surely flee from us. By that, the trial ends.

Please pray:

Thank you, father for loving me so much and making me the apple of your eyes. Please equip me strongly to resist the devil at all times so as to ever remain in your love. Every trial and temptation the enemy has brought my way that had taken a toll before now, by the power in the name of Jesus Christ, I command it to cease promptly, in Jesus’ name. Let everything I had lost to trials and temptations whether, physically, materially or emotionally be restored more than doubly to me this day, in Jesus’ name.

Please share with others. God bless you.
