Don’t be a liar!

Focus: 1 John 4:20 - KJV

20. If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

1 John 4:16-21

Man is by creation an image of God. Indeed, scripture calls Adam, the first man, the son of God. This tends to give an indication to why God so loves man. He so loves man that He humbled Himself to step down from the Throne of Heaven, take up the body of man, his son, and die a painful human death in the hands of those whom He loves just so that He may rescue them from doom. He did not die for just one individual, nation or generation; His death was for mankind from generation to generation. Meaning what: if God so loves man to die for him, anyone who claims to love God must equally love man whom God loves and died for. Not loving man is putting him in peril and likely doom which God died to prevent him from; which will turn out to mean making the death of God for such a man, a waste. But what is responsible for lack of love between men? Simply put, it is the deception from the enemy of man. The enemy knows that when we fail to love one another, we disobey God and He is not happy about it. If therefore, not loving a man makes God unhappy, how can one claim to love God and make Him unhappy? It is fallacious to claim to love someone and yet make the same unhappy. It is the joy of God that every soul should live and not die, for all souls are His. That sends the signal of the extent of God’s love for the being we refuse to love. Now, the one committed to us to love, we see physically; but God, we see only by faith. If therefore we do not love people we see and live with, how then can we claim to love God who we seldom see?

Will you please stop all malice and disgruntled disposition towards other people if indeed you love God? It is not possible to deceive God. He cannot be mocked. If indeed we love Him, then we ought to express such love to the ones He loves like us with whom we dwell, work, worship and walk etc.

SOLUTION: Make up your mind never to begrudge anyone again but to love them without fear. Do to them only the things you would want others to do to you. Even if they resent you, draw them closer with love.

The Lord of Hosts will make His love shine upon all our hearts in Jesus’ name. He will Himself teach us how to love despite the shortcomings of men in the name of Jesus. We will never fail Him in love in Jesus’ name. Love is sweet. Love your neighbors all. Shalom!
