Focus: Matthew 25:40 - KJV
40. And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
Matthew 10:40-42
Using the understanding of the agriculturist of the time to explain the position of the Kingdom, Christ said that mankind is made of simply two species: the sheep and the goat. The sheep, He categorized as those who love and take good care of Him while the goats are those who do not. However, since Christ was, even at the time He spoke these things, programmed to leave the earth and return, the listeners were bound to wonder how they were to care for Him when He was gone; but Christ had for them a befitting answer. A deed to Christ’s brethren is a deed to Christ. The issue will then be, who are His brethren? At the time He spoke, He must have been referring to His followers as His brethren as He pointed out elsewhere that those who did the will of the father were His brethren.
Ironically, part of those referred to as Christ’s brethren at the time was Judas Iscariot, and Peter who denied Him. The determination of who His brethren truly are is His and not necessarily based on our judgment. Ours is, to feed them that name the name of the Lord, cloth them and ensure we receive them kindly. When we do, we receive the reward of doing so here on earth, and subsequently, Christ acknowledges us as the sheep meant for eternal life in the end. Now, it does not matter what it appears to us that the brethren are doing wrong. That is for God to judge. He judged the house of Eli but did not stop the sacrifice in Israel because of the misdeed of the children of Eli, the priests, at the time. The judgment of the brethren is with their big brother and not any of us. If we must be reckoned as sheep in the end, we are to follow the voice of the shepherd which simply is, take care of my brethren; when you do, you take care of me.
Many today have fallen into the trap of deception created by the devil to turn many to goats and thereby end up with him in the lake of fire. Judgment belongs to God. The enemy has lied to many followers to believe that their offertories to the Church, part of which is used to cater for the priests and Church leaders, are actually consumed by the Chief Priest and his friends, thereby not being used for the purpose it was prescribed for. The business of what to do with the offertory belongs to the priest for which he accounts to God. If by this lie of the devil, we decide not to give again and thereby fail to provide for Christ’s brethren, we are the ones to bear the brunt in the end, while the deceiver will only be joyful that he has more brethren added to himself. That will not be our portion in Jesus’ name. To be reckoned as sheep to the end therefore, continue to give to the brethren your tithes and offering, then is eternal life assured.
SOLUTION: Be not deceived, what Christ says He would do, He is going to do. There will be a separation when He returns. Where we end up is determined by the specie He sees in us – sheep or goat. Strive to remain a sheep by providing for the brethren. It takes nothing from you for as long as you have the provision of your basic needs. He promises to provide for you for it, anyway.
Please pray: Father, forgive me for being selective of when I should feed your brethren and when I should not. From now, do help me to be fully obedient to your injunctions in the name of Jesus Christ. Let the reward of my receiving the righteous man in the name of the righteous man be sure, dear Lord, in Jesus’ name.
