Focus: Acts 13:2 - KJV
2. As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.
Acts 9:15
Every believer has a purpose for which the Lord has raised him. Unfortunately, there are some who are called into an assignment but assume that it is only by them that others must be called or that it is just their calling that is genuine. Ministry belongs to God and it is delivered unto the believer by the Holy Spirit for specific purpose. The one who made us knows how each of us is wired and what we can achieve per time. Hence, He gives ministerial gifts for us to work with according to our several abilities. Preventing a person from ministry because we lack understanding of his kind of ministry is a disservice to God.
Barnabas and Paul were to be separated unto the work which the Lord had appointed them for, which was ministering to the Gentiles. It was not the business of those who prayed to know the specific assignment at the time because they were not likely to understand it being Jews themselves who believed Gentiles should be ostracized despite the experience of Peter with Cornelius. There are some today who were ordained for a purpose while others are ordained to further such purpose in other lights but are being frustrated because their mission does not look like that of the initial ordainee.
The mind of God is that each believer, like the organs of the body, operate where he is called and mind it, without necessarily looking at the function of others. If the eye sees the ears as useless and moves to frustrate its function, how will the entire body hear? A refusal to incline our ears to the Holy Spirit is responsible largely to the schism in the body and the current case of hens eating up one another’s intestines. Paul operated in his apostolic office to the Gentiles, while Philip as an evangelist was readily available to run after chariot for the Holy Spirit to bring the confused to fulfilment. The one did not antagonize the other and the work grew. Do yours and allow others to do theirs for Christ.
Please pray:
Father, I thank you for calling me into ministry as a part of the body of Christ. All that I need to excel in the particular assignment that you have called me into, better than all that are before me, please grant unto me in Jesus’ name. From today, let my effectiveness impact your Kingdom for better that many more sons may be gathered unto you, in Jesus’ name. Please help the body of Christ to understand your leading at this time, dear Lord, in Jesus’ name.
Please share with others. God bless you.
