Focus: Romans 16:19 - KJV
19. For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil.
Romans 16:19-20
It takes true wisdom to do good for the business of doing good is from the Lord who is the father of light in whom there is neither variableness nor shadow of turning. No wonder He says he who lacks wisdom should ask for, that He may be given liberally of the Lord. On the other hand, evil is easy to jump into without the need of a protocol because it suits the devil when everyone becomes an evildoer. But for them who are wise, they need to treat evil as foolishness to the extent that they jettison it everywhere it is found. When they do so, their good deeds become something well-spoken about and the purveyor of evil becomes subservient unto them. Wherefore, it is said that wisdom is profitable to direct.
Jesus was anointed by the Holy Spirit and He went about doing good because the Lord was with Him. Hence, many times while He was preaching the truth and setting captives free, the agents of the devil of His days, who cloaked themselves as men of God, sought to get hold of Him. But, the works He did which could not be denied, tackled them and made them and their master, footstool unto the Lord. Recall the case of the man born blind who was told to testify that Christ was a sinner but refused? Such is the victory of them who do good and eschew evil today: they also have victory over the enemy.
The Lord is saying to us that we have stayed too long on the mountain of subservient under the evil master. He wants us to move to the side of doing only good always, going forward so that the testimony of our beings can be changed for better to the effect that the devil, being the enemy of our souls, becomes transmuted under our feet forthwith. That can only happen if we refuse to obey him to do evil, going forward. Let us therefore, heed the voice of our God to do only good always and never evil, anymore.
Please pray:
Father, I thank you for giving me the heart to choose you, as against the man of evil, in my life. Please help to keep me on the side of doing good always and ever more, in Jesus’ name. Do please separate between me and the devil permanently that he may be kept perpetually under my feet, in Jesus’ name. Let nothing change my position of being above the devil ever again and do give me the wisdom to do good works forever more, in Jesus’ name.
