Be Sanctified

Focus: Hebrews 10:12-14 - KJV

12. But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; 13. From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. 14. For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

Hebrews 10:11-18

Sanctification is the process of becoming holy or being set apart for a special purpose. When believers assume that they already have a place with God in eternity because of Christ’s death and resurrection, they rely more often on the scripture in focus. What is true about that is for only them that are sanctified; meaning, they are holy and remain in the purpose for which they are set apart. The converse is true: those who are not sanctified are not yet perfected and therefore, need to be, through sanctification.

The work of salvation wrought by Christ uprooted sin and its effect over man from the acts of Adam so that man is no longer meant to bear the wages of sin. However, from Cain up till those that are being born even today, every man is expected to be perfected through sanctification by the same offering. It means, every man who submits to Christ and follows His directives is translated into perfection by so being set apart unto God and not being like those who are without.

As the year is running to a close, what the Lord seeks from us is that we understand that we can be made perfect indeed by Christ through our being guided of the Holy Spirit to do the will of the father always, as delivered to us by Christ. When we yield in obedience, the purveyor of sin will soon bow to the Lordship of our King, Jesus Christ, by which fact, the Lord makes His enemies, His footstool. It will not be right to still continue to operate in transgression into the new year. Let us adjust our ways today.

Please pray:

Father, please make me perfect by setting me aside unto yourself for the rest of my life, never to fulfil the will of the enemy ever again, in Jesus’ name. Please open up the hearts of men that we may understand fully the import of the sacrifice of Christ and not assume transgression is permissible of you, in Jesus’ name. Do let my life be example of the sanctified and perfected life, O Lord, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

Please share with others. God bless you.
