Be Rooted In Christ

Writer: Jide OlaoreJide Olaore

Focus: Colossians 2:6-7 - KJV

6. As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: 7. Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

1 Thessalonians 4:1-6

To be a believer is to be rooted in Christ doing only those things that are approvable to Him and walking in His footstep. His footprints are all over the sands of time and spread all through scriptures for guidance so that when it appears the believer is straying away from the footprints, he may check the coordinates to get himself redirected to that which he was given to do. The believer who is rooted in Christ is forever found in good works as he is enveloped by the Holy Spirit to guide him into only such works.

They that are rooted in Christ possess their vessels in sanctification unto the Lord, not in the lust of concupiscence but in honor. They know that as God is Love and Christ has handed love down to us, teaching us how to do love our God and our neighbors, they defraud not their brethren in anything but live their lives not despising or hurting any man, living a life of cleanliness and holiness by the help of the Holy Spirit that dwells in him. Bottomline is, no one is rooted in Christ that commits sin anymore for there is no sin in Him to sin. Hence, the sinner long strayed from Him before his uncleanness.

The Lord is calling our attention to the fact that those things we do that do not conform to His character evince the fact that we long separated ourselves from Him assuming we still belong inside of Him. Today, He calls us all to come out of the unclean thing and be properly sanctified unto Him for there is no affinity between light and darkness. He cries out to us today to come out of the midst of uncleanness and be separated unto our God to be rooted in Christ, forever, not to get out into uncleanness ever again.

Please pray:

Father, I thank you for sanctifying me unto yourself and having me formed in you. In you, I appreciate cleanliness and holiness. Please keep me safe inside of you so that I may never depart from the life of holiness that I may be fully built in you in accordance with your word, in Jesus’ name. Let nothing shake me that could not shake you while on earth, in Jesus’ name. Please grant me the fortitude to do such works like you did and greater works also, to the glory of your name, in Jesus’ name.

Please share with others. God bless you.
