Are You Doing Well?

Focus: Genesis 4:7 - KJV

7. If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

Genesis 4:3-7

When Jesus taught us to pray, He said we should ask that the Lord leads us, not into temptation, and deliver us from evil. The beauty of such is that those who are guided by the Lord are not allowed to “fall” into temptation. But those who rebel against the Lord snatch themselves from His guidance and protection, but make themselves open to sin. For those who do honor God are approved of Him and brought under His cover.

As if the Lord was hungry, Cain purposed to give Him an offering from the result of the sin of his father. He gave God profaned offering from a hurting heart. He was hurting because the ground produced unto Him thorns and thistles and he laid the blame at God’s doorstep. Hence, he gave to God the result of iniquity and was left to his folly. But before being left, he was warned of the consequences of his rejection of God in which he was found eventually, and that is sin.

The Lord is saying to us also today who assume we can blame God for our situations and circumstances and therefore dishonor God. Those who do so do not well. For economic downturn we fail in our duties unto God – in offerings, tithes and first fruit. Many assume God is wrong in allowing famine. Unless we repent quickly and return to our first love, like Cain, sin lies at the door. It is important we have a quick rethink and return to God that we may not be led into temptation so that we do not fall into sin.

Please pray:

Father, we thank you for not allowing sin to devastate us more than the current state. Please forgive us of our misdeeds in Jesus’ name. We prefer your reign over us. Please take over our lives and countries, dear Lord, in Jesus’ name. Do not let our current acts lead to a separation between you and us, even as you help us to overcome the temptation to dishonor you, always, in Jesus’ name. The mind to do your will to the very end, please give to us. Thank you, father. In Jesus’ name we pray.

Please share with others. God bless you.
