Focus: 2 John 1:9 - KJV
9. Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
1 John 2:18-23
There are doctrines and there are doctrines. But then, there is the doctrine of Christ. Many came before Christ and some others after Him propagating different doctrines about God. Meanwhile, their portrayal of the person of God does not measure up to whom God is, if we look through scriptures finickily. However, Christ came with the doctrine of the father and taught us to stay in that doctrine as it is the only way by which we can get to the father. The same doctrine, many are trampling under feet claiming it is not from God. Those who do so are not of God, as they are simply anti-Christ, since the spirit of the evil one dwells in them.
God manifested His son in the flesh, as the Son of Man, to show us the way to salvation. He propagated the doctrine of love and reconciliation unto us. For it is because of love that God gave us His only begotten son to die for our sin. If He does so love us, and laid down His life, we ought also to love one another. That is the doctrine of Christ. We cannot love a neighbor and be sending missiles to his abode; neither do we love someone and find him operating in darkness and be happy about it to the extent of neglecting him to rot in darkness. The doctrine of Christ is to the extent that we be willing to lay down our lives for our friends like He did for us. That is love at its peak, and that is what Christ has given to us. Every other doctrine about God outside of love, are doctrines of thieves and robbers.
Today, the Lord wants us to realize that abdicating the doctrine of love and refusing to operate the ministry of reconciliation is a denial of Christ. Those who so deny Christ cannot meet the father. If, however, we follow Christ in love and operate the ministry He consigned to us, we will not only gain Christ but the father also. In this lies great gain for the believer. Every other doctrine outside of love is evil. Let us therefore, be practical about loving one another as Christ has commanded us.
SOLUTION: Like the good Samaritan, be careful to show love to those in some form of hardship or another. To ignore them is ordinarily evil. To worsen the state of a person in hardship is heinous and Christ is never found in that. Be loving and caring, always.
Please pray:
· Give thanks to God for His love over us and for showing us how we also ought to love one another
· Ask God to please forgive you in any way that you have fallen short of love which is the doctrine of Christ in your walk through life, so far
· Ask God to help you by His Spirit to show greater love also to your neighbor and brethren
· Pray God to open your heart to love more than ever so as to gain Christ and God the father, in the end
· Ask for your daily bread for today
